Euroblech 2024 – Review

We welcomed many visitors to Euroblech 2024 and held interesting discussions at our two stands.

One highlight was winning the Euroblech Award: our LWC-RT4-BPP laser welding system for the production of metallic bipolar plates won in the joining technology category.

Find out more about the LWC-RT4-BPP here

Our focus at the booth was on innovative manufacturing solutions for applications in the new energy sector, which enable cost-effective laser processing of bipolar plates, battery housings and modules and battery cooler plates, as well as our highly efficient laser welding systems, which can be used to efficiently produce high-quality pressure vessels such as boilers, water tanks or buffer tanks, as well as pipes with wall thicknesses of up to 3.5 mm.
Our subsidiary Novatec was presenting laser cutting applications in tube production and tube forming. Together, we are specialists in the fully automated production of high-quality tubes: from laser welding and cutting to tube forming.
At the Schaal Technology booth, we were demonstrating our SEP 25 stamping system including decoiler. In addition, co-exhibitor Giasini will be showing molds, stamping tools and special tools for the precise production of complex technical parts of small and medium size.

> Innovative manufacturing solutions for applications in the field of new energies

Manufacturing solutions from Weil Technology are groundbreaking for the mobility of the future.

Laser welding of bipolar plates

Our welding module for the production of bipolar plates for fuel cells and electrolyzers reliably achieves very high absolute welding speeds of 1 m/sec with a large usable working area, which enables annual production of several million units. The static structure between optics and clamping technology guarantees the highest accuracy and reproducibility.

Laser welding of battery housings

With a cartesian welding system, our Laser Welding Cell for battery cases and housings can not only weld the case , but also do pre- and assembly of components, as well as DMC markings. The footprint is minimal and offers interchangeable tooling to offer high flexibility.

Economical cell contacting of battery modules

The contacting of battery cells using our Laser Welding Cell is characterized by high reliability and low costs per cell. The system enables process-parallel loading and unloading as well as a high degree of flexibility for geometric contour changes thanks to its innovative scanner optics.

Laser welding of battery cooler plates

Thermal management is an important component of a traction battery system that must meet the highest requirements. Our Laser Welding Cell is equipped for welding stainless steel as well as aluminum with very good welding results and uniform welding depths at welding speeds of up to 15 m/min.

> Systems for efficient vessel production

The efficient production of high-quality stainless steel and black plate vessels is a key factor in the energy and heat management segment. Here, our systems for roll forming and laser welding with sophisticated clamping technology offer proven flexibility and quality as well as innovative individual solutions. Our systems are well ahead of the competition, both in the circumferential seam welding of pipes and in the shell-to-bottom production of high-quality (pressure) vessels. With the Variostar, for example, tubes with a sheet thickness of up to 3.5 mm can be produced highly efficiently in a continuous process for the first time.

> Automated production of individual tubes

Our subsidiary Novatec was presenting automated laser cutting applications in tube production with the proven versatile Novacut systems. Our colleagues were also demonstrating their sophisticated laser welding technology for tube forming, for example for T and elbow tubes.

> SEP 25 series: Automatic stamping presses for every application

System solutions for pressing and stamping from Schaal Technology stand for flexible, efficient and therefore economical production. The main areas of application are in the mobility, electrical industry and medical technology markets. In addition to series systems, Schaal Technology also offers individual customer-specific special solutions.

In order to position the individual moulded strips precisely in relation to each other, Schaal Technology has reached another milestone with the new development for strip positioning in the forming and separating cut of fin systems in fully automated production from the strip in a single or up to six-track stamping process.

In the field of e-mobility, Schaal Technology's automatic stamping presses enable the economical production of contact elements for small and medium quantities.

Experience a Schaal Technology SEP 25 live at Euroblech: This year we have a SEP 25 automatic stamping press in operation on our booth. See the entire range of the system live, including decoiler and control cabinet during production.
